Our Alumni Family is Growing, Congrats Jimmy & Kim!

  This is a photo of Jimmy Fabrizio, his wife Kim and baby. An alum from 2006, Jimmy is a graduate of Geneva College and majored in youth ministry.  He is looking forward to working as a Youth Pastor in a Pennsylvania church.  Recently we learned that another baby is due in early summer. Congratulations!

Our annual Talent Show will be held Friday, January 21st. There will be a pasta dinner at 6:00pm and the show will begin at 7:00pm. Sign up with Miss. Garcia or Mrs. Greer by January 4th if you'd like to perform.

Citrus Pop Video

  Citrus Pop was inspired by Brandon Baxter while we were preparing to shoot another video. While we were on dinner break, Baxter started acting with his glass of Citrus Pop. The more we started joking about the drink, the more we wanted to turn it into a commercial. This video is the result. Completely unplanned, yet a great introduction of things to come!

Sing for Joy of Heart

Emotions were never meant to be bottled up inside. When we try to contain them, the pressure builds. Usually, we think of this mounting accumulation of strong feelings in negative ways. Too often, suppressed anger builds until it boils over in rash deeds and scathing words. The sadness we attempt to hide will lead to a storm of tears. When we try to keep our fears under wraps, they can mount up until we're in panic. But have you ever considered that our other good emotions tend to spill over into our lives, as well? Take joy, for example. When our hearts are filled with joy to the point of overflowing, it bubbles over. And how do we express this abundant joy? According to Scripture, we sing for joy of heart.

Thanksgiving Break!

 Today we had an all school Thanksgiving lunch at Upton Lake... turkey, corn, salad, biscuits, mashed potatoes and gravy, cranberry sauce, apple cider, oh and lots and lots of pie... mmmm delicious! Now everyone is on Thanksgiving Break! Rest up, enjoy your family, friends, and of course - food! We'll see you back in school on Monday! :)

Christmas Concert at Upton Lake!

Christmas Concert! The Greatest Gift
Friday, December 17, 2010 at 7:00pm

*Students need to arrive promptly at 6:30pm and report to their classrooms. 

This concert's theme is The Greatest Gift. The concert will revolve around the idea of giving of ourselves through our talents and actions in order to honor the true greatest gift, Jesus Christ. So often Christmas is a time where children think of what they are going to get under the Christmas tree instead of what they will give. On this night we want to turn our attention, our praise and our focus to the true meaning of Christmas and celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ! 

DVD's of the concert will be available to order for only $10. Wouldn't you rather let us do the videotaping so you can enjoy the live concert? ;)

Alise Cain, of Coastlands Consultants


Visiting Upton Lake Christian School as a mentor from Coastlands Consultants has been a wonderful experience so far!
The students are so polite and well behaved. They have been responding to the chapel time and teachings so well. They are getting excited about God and we hope and pray that He is radically changing and encountering their hearts during this Spiritual Emphasis Week.
My favorite part has been doing worship with the students, watching them sing from their hearts to God, and just being with them during recess. God has opened up many opportunities for relationships to form and grow and that is one of my favorite parts of this ministry.

Spiritual Empahasis Week at Upton Lake

This week at Upton Lake is Spiritual Emphasis Week for the Elementary Students. The Coastlands Team is here working with the students throughout the week, encouraging them with their walk with God.

The theme of this week is Be Courageous Even When You're the Only One - "Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go." - Joshua 1:9b
